My Night with Reg – Donmar Warehouse – review

What isn’t mentioned, even though it’s supposedly what the play is “about,” is AIDS.  But in watching Kevin Elyot’s thoughtful and finely crafted My Night with Reg, it becomes clear that AIDS is not really the play’s subject at all.  It aims more broadly, meditating on love and loss and pretense and friendship, with the dark cloud of AIDS overhanging and sometimes passing close by.
